Let me start by saying that I’m not a layer and you should not consider any part of this post as legal advice, but, I’m sure you’ve heard of the new Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines coming into effect on 1st December 2009?
Well, one of the changes being introduced is the need for affiliate marketers to disclose the fact that their marketing emails contain affiliate links for the products they are recommending. Now I was wondering how to do this, what words I should use etc. when I came across this free resource from attorney Mike Young that shows you how to add an affiliate disclosure to your email marketing messages. Perfect!
This is a ‘must have’ resource for anyone doing email marketing and so I thought should share it.
You can download it for free by right clicking and choosing ‘Save Target As’ here:

In addition, Mike has another great product which ensures your website has all of the correct website legal forms so that you are fully FTC and legally compliant. I picked this up straight away andyou can see all of my new legal forms in the footer at the bottom of my blog.
Whatever you think of the new FTC regulations, can you really afford to ignore them?
